With Tropicana’s $180 million dollar renovation underway, the hotel has brightened it’s future with its South Beach and Nikki Beach theme including the grand opening of Ambhar Lounge featuring Ambhar Tequila. Each night at the Trop the party rages on with phenomenal live country music by Nashville recording artist Tony Maques. Tony Marques is the star of the show as he plays all your favorite country music songs. The dance floor is full of life all night long. With all the talent in town Tony is one of those artists that can pull a crowd. As a Las Vegas native for a number of years his name is becoming well known in the industry.
The word country has always been a part of Tony Marques’ (pronounced: mar-cus) vocabulary with an upbringing consistent of northwest roots, this phenomenal country music artist may not be a son of the south, but his distinctive country sound thrives, emitting a rare soulful energy matchless to any other country artist.
Over the years Tony has developed his sense of country and has embraced the legends that have come before him. Through an extensive list of legendary cover songs and the introduction of his own emerging song writes, Tony has been capturing the hearts of our homeland and those abroad since his relocation to Las Vegas, Nevada during his high school years.
Tony’s determination and passion for country music has led him to embark on what he is now so well known for in Las Vegas, as well as many other cities throughout the US. Not only has Tony grasped the attention of those domestically; he has also captured the attention of folks internationally, some as far away as Australia, Germany, England, and Ireland, just to name a few. Tony’s outgoing and friendly characteristics help him stay closely connected with his fans. He engages his fans by providing weekly updates through e-mail newsletter blasts to his database, accumulated throughout the years. In addition, Tony understands the power of social media, therefore, he also connects with fans through MySpace and Facebook.
As a self taught singer, songwriter, and acoustic guitar player, Tony’s ambition to become a country music artist and his overwhelming love for music and performing, has allowed him to share his talents with a vast array of audiences, performing at venues such as: Planet Hollywood, Ceasars Palace, Harrah’s, MGM Grand, Tropicana, Fremont Street Experience, and many, many more.
Over his years of performing at the Fremont Street Experience, along with a great deal of other popular venues, Tony has opened for many national recording artists throughout NASCAR, (NFR) National Finals Rodeo, and (PBR) Pro Bull Riders events, all taking place in Las Vegas. Tony has had the honor to open for the following artists: Charlie Daniels, Trent Tomlinson, Jason Aldean, Billy Currington, Mark Wills, David Nail, Craig Morgan, Neal McCoy, Sawyer Brown, Chris Cagle, Darryl Worley, Asleep At The Wheel, Phil Vassar, Keith Anderson, Ricky Skaggs, and played opposite of, Chuck Wicks, at the 2009 (ACM) Academy of Country Music Awards pre-awards party.
Tony and his handful of talented musicians that surround him on stage nightly, have backed up Toby Keith, numerous times when he has stopped in unannounced at Toby’s own, Toby Keith’s I’ Love This Bar and Grill”, inside of Harrah’s Casino, Las Vegas. Tony got this incredible opportunity by being handpicked by Toby Keith himself, alongside the executives of Harrah’s Casino, to perform nightly as the House Band from August of 2005 through the end of January 2009. This venue gave Tony, remarkable exposure nightly to country music lovers and even a few non-country music lovers, that later have became some of his biggest supporters. At the beginning of 2009, Tony was able to broaden his horizons and venture out of Vegas to be the first band to perform at Toby Keith’s “I Love This Bar and Grill” in Mesa, AZ. Tony performed several times at Toby’s in Mesa throughout 2009.
Over the past seventeen years as a musician, he has reached many mile stones in his career and has developed an audience appreciation which has earned him recognition and attention from some of the world’s largest and very successful Corporations for whom he’s performed, including: SBC (Southwestern Bell Communications), Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up (performing the last four out five years at the Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up sponsored, (ACM) Academy of Country Music pre-awards party), Tom Redmond’s 75th Birthday Bash (Owner of REDKEN and Aussie Hair Products), Atlantis Paradise Resort, Bahamas (Annual Fourth of July Party), and the Northern California Bowling Association (Annual Convention in Reno, NV).
In 2004, Tony released his first original self-titled CD and followed up in 2006 with a Christmas CD project. In the first six months of 2009, he spent part of his time in Nashville, writing and working on a new CD project titled, “Days Like This.” The CD was produced by, Dean Sams of the group, Lonestar. The music was recorded at, Blackbird Studio’s (Owned by, Martina McBride and her husband, Jim McBride.) Nashville’s finest studio musicians performed on the project. The project is currently on hold and will hopefully be available to the public in the near future. Tony is currently a Sterling member of the (CMA) Country Music Association, and also the (ACM) Academy of Country Music. Songs written or co-written by Tony are logged and calculated with (ASCAP) American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, where he is also a member.
Tony may have a busy schedule but he is also a strong believer in giving back. Tony always seems to find the time to give back to the Las Vegas community and abroad. He is never opposed to the idea of lending his time and talents to various charities whether local or in other parts of the United States or even around the world. Tony has also been involved with special events for local Las Vegas politicians. Because of the love that he has for his daughter, he finds a great deal of joy and fulfillment in donating his time to children’s benefits such as, St. Jude’s Miracle Network and many more. In 2010, he plans on reaching out to Las Vegas’ own, Shade Tree Organization (Shelter for abused mothers, wives and their children,) plus, local Senior Centers.
To this day, Tony continues to strive onward and be successful in the music industry by, believing in his dreams, working hard, staying dedicated, staying focused, and being true to himself. Along with a little luck, many blessings, and the support of family, friends, and fans, Tony has high aspirations, that someday he will become one of country music’s household names. The Tropicana is hosting the Rodeo Roundup after party each night during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo from 9:30pm- 1:30am. On December 10th the Buckle Bunny Pageant Prelims kicks off at 9:30pm at the Ambhar Lounge. True Cowboy Magazine is calling all cowgirls to compete to win the cover of their magazine. Participants are welcome to sign up from 9pm-9:30pm on December 10th to strut their stuff on the runway and answer some Q&A for the chance to win. The contestants will be judged on beauty, personality, and wit. The Buckle Bunny Pageant finals will be held on December 11th at the Ambhar Lounge starting at 9:30pm.
True Cowboy Magazine presents the Buckle Bunny Mustang Charity Event begins on December 11th featuring two former Playboy Playmates of the Year Julie Cialini and Denise Luna and joining them will be Buckle Bunny Baxter Clay. The night starts with a silent auction to raise money to save the mustangs, autograph signing with playmates and buckle bunnies, photo opts, live country music, contests and more.
